Through Dark Eyes

Shadows of magic book one

Jeremy

“Does it ever scare you .  . . ? When I use magic?”

Jeremy always believed magic was a myth. That was until magic tore into his flesh and ripped away something he relied on.

He struggles to control the forbidden magic that now runs through his veins, refusing to accept his new reality.

Jeremy will have to rely on his sister, his best friend, and a mysterious guardian if he is going survive.

Katie

“I won’t give up on you. I promise.”

Katie never really had a strong stance on magic before she saw it burrow into her best friend’s skin.

Despite the danger, she wants to help. She wants to find out everything she can about magic and the mysteries of its past.

Her shy disposition makes it hard for her to speak up, but Katie will have to stand up for herself and her friends if she wants to help them.

Alysia

(Ah-liss-ee-ah)

“What is wrong with you?“

Alysia’s belief in magic was simple. She’d paid attention in school, and she knew the stories. Magic was evil, and that was that.

She always believed that destroying the magic born was the right thing to do. Now her brother might be one of them.

Alysia must to let go of everything she thought she knew or lose her brother forever.

Amilye

(A-mil-eye)

“Your aversion to magic will get you killed.”

Amilye is the keeper of magic’s secrets, and she is faced with an impossible task. She must train her charge to wield the purple smoke.

Distain for magic runs deeper than she expected, and she was not prepared for how difficult it would be to change that.

There may be things about magic that even Amilye has to discover.

Blake

“I won’t let you hurt him.”

Blake is confident in his belief in magic. He doesn’t subscribe to the version of history he was taught.

He’s never been close to anyone but his older brother. He keeps people at a distance and his surly disposition can be hard to see past.

But when magic threatens the only person he cares about, Blake will do anything to save him.

Kaiyo

(K-eye-yo)

‘There has to be another way.’

When he was young, Kaiyo’s belief in magic changed forever.

All he wants it to put the past behind him, but the past won’t let go. With each passing day he’s pushed further and further to the brink.

Kaiyo can’t hold on much longer, and soon he will lose himself completely.
